The thermoelectric cooling module works on the Peltier effect. When DC current flows through the thermoelectric module, heat will be transferred from one ceramic side to the opposite side. One surface turns cold for refrigeration, while the other side generates heat which must be dissipated by a matched heat sink. By reversing the direction of direct‑current, the thermoelectric module can switch between cooling mode and heating mode.
